Content Suggestions

What additional content would you like to see from Code School?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Android Development (Beginner / Advanced)

Even though android development requires an IDEA (eclipse), it could be great to learn chunks of code each time with new chapters and experiment writing code.

Personally I'd like to see Android game programming tutorials, but any android tutorial would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  2. PHP

A beginner - intermediate course on PHP would be great, particularly for designers that need to understand more about server side programming.

  4. Advanced JavaScript

I would like to see a course or a series of courses to teach non computer science folks who want to write JS in OOP. Readability, commenting and best practices would be the focus. I want to write big boy code not spaghetti code.

  5. Advanced Python

Python is such an easy and fun language to learn I don't think it is necessary to offer an introductory course on it. An advanced course, however, would be very useful.

  6. Advanced Node and Express

It would be good to have a deeper course about node.js best practises, like exception/error handling (really hard), interfaces, api´s, debugging, etc.

  8. OOP, Patterns and Refactoring

I'd like to see good examples of refactorings and refactoring to patterns - These may be separate items altogether.. something similar to rails best practices but working through code-smell examples and sets of related refactorings as levels

  12. C/C++

We have seen lots of course for web development. Maybe it's a good idea to study the language that all of those other are made uppon. Maybe even could we integrate it with an web application.

  16. Advanced AngularJS

I liked the 'Shaping up with Angular.JS' course, but I honestly didn't learn a lot. I have some prior experience with Angular and most of the things covered I already knew.

A more in-depth course would be great. Some things that weren't touched upon: directive link functions, nested scopes, services/providers/factories, testing (!), ...
